1. Acceptance of these terms
These Terms of Use apply when you access or use the KampKiekies app or web version. By using KampKiekies, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
2. Your account
You are responsible for keeping your account information accurate and your login credentials confidential. Please tell us promptly at howzit@kampkiekies.co.za if you suspect unauthorised access to your account. We may need to suspend or protect an account where we reasonably believe that security, these terms or the service is at risk.
3. Your camping journal
KampKiekies gives you a personal space to record camping visits, notes, photos and memories. You keep ownership of content you submit. You grant KampKiekies the limited permission needed to host, store, back up, display to you and technically process that content solely to operate, maintain and improve the service.
4. Responsible use
You may not use KampKiekies in a way that is unlawful, harmful or interferes with the service or other users. In particular, you may not:
- Upload or share content that you do not have the right to use, or that infringes another person’s rights.
- Attempt to access another person’s account, data or systems without permission.
- Introduce malicious code, scrape the service in a harmful way or try to bypass security measures.
- Use KampKiekies to misrepresent information, harass others or break applicable law.
5. Campsite information and personal notes
KampKiekies records your own experience. Campsite conditions, roads, facilities, prices, rules and availability can change. You are responsible for checking important details directly with a campsite before travelling or booking. KampKiekies does not guarantee that your notes or any camping information will remain current, complete or suitable for a particular trip.
6. Free and Plus access
KampKiekies may offer a free plan and a paid Plus plan. The features, limits, price and payment terms shown at the point of purchase apply to that purchase. Plus subscriptions may renew automatically until cancelled through the applicable purchase channel. Where a refund is required by applicable law, it will be handled accordingly; otherwise, any refund process is governed by the payment provider and purchase terms shown at checkout.
7. Availability and changes
We aim to keep KampKiekies available and useful, but the service may change, be updated, paused or become unavailable from time to time. We may modify features, limits or these terms as the service develops. We will use reasonable efforts to communicate material changes where appropriate.
8. Intellectual property
KampKiekies, its branding, software, design and other service materials are owned by or licensed to KampKiekies and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Except for the limited right to use the service under these terms, no rights are granted to you.
9. Disclaimers and liability
KampKiekies is provided on an “as available” basis to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not promise uninterrupted service, error-free operation or that every item you save will meet a particular purpose. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or protections that cannot legally be excluded. To the extent permitted by law, KampKiekies will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss arising from use of the service.
10. Suspension and termination
You may stop using KampKiekies at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe you have breached these terms, created a security risk, used the service unlawfully or where required by law. Where practical, we will explain the action taken.
11. Governing law
These terms are intended to be governed by the laws of South Africa, unless a mandatory law in the place where you live requires otherwise. This does not remove consumer rights that cannot legally be waived.
